ART THERAPY

Since 2005, CAMeC has been running Art Therapy workshops—an innovative pilot project developed in collaboration with ASL 5 of La Spezia, aimed at young people and adults with mental health difficulties. In 2016, the program was expanded through a partnership with the Child and Adolescent Neuropsychiatry Department, involving participants in developmental age.

Held from October to May, the workshops use art as a tool to promote social inclusion, encourage autonomy, and develop communication and relational skills. Each session draws inspiration from the current exhibitions and is designed in collaboration with CAMeC’s education department. The program concludes with an exhibition of the participants’ artworks displayed within the museum spaces.

Additional activities are carried out in cooperation with local day centres and associations working on social inclusion and caregiver support.

The Center hosts “I Mercoledì del CAMeC” (CAMeC Wednesdays), a series of free meetings dedicated to adults, regularly scheduled and announced in our events section.
